Wasp badge - yellowjacket wasp brooch, yellow and black print pin.
The original wasp design was cut into lino. The lino is used to print the wasp onto shrinking plastic using a mixture of black and yellow pigment inks. The plastic is heated to create the final hard badge.
Each print is unique. The badge you buy will be almost identical to the one pictured - the same linocut and pigment inks will be used to print your wasp.
The wasp is 2.5cm wide and 4cm long and is glued securely to a bar pin brooch back (see the photo with a pencil shown in it for a visual scale).
The badge is blank (ie, white) on the reverse and is very light - the plastic, although quite rigid, is no more than 2mm thick.
